The CARONTE – CanSat Deployer project was created to respond to the needs of a sounding rocket able to deploy a payload on apogee. With it’s 6 inch diameter CARONTE is designed to accommodate payloads up to the size of a CanSat, thus ensuring great versatility. This rocket is capable of reaching an apogee of 1200 meters, using a class-K solid-propellant commercial COTS engine. CARONTE’s first flight, carried out in May 2024, confirmed the carrier’s potential, with a successful payload release and a recovery of the rocket in excellent condition.
